APS Training Tip of the Day: The Golden Window

The 5 Minute Golden Window - A 12-week study conducted by researchers in Denmark found that men over the age of 50 who consumed a drink with 10 grams of protein, 7 grams of carbohydrate, and 3 grams of fat within five minutes after training gained muscle mass, but men who consumed the drink 120 minutes later did not. For younger athletes, consuming more calories for growth is even more important considering the differences in an average 55 year old compared to an average 25 year old.
